SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter, Crisco, or half and half
3 c. sugar
3 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. flavoring (almond, lemon, coconut, or vanilla)
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Cream together sugar, butter then add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift together dry ingredients - TWICE. Add flour mixture to first mixture well. Add sour cream and stir until thoroughly mixed. Add flavoring - pour into a 10 inch tube pan and bake 9 minutes on slow cook and 5 minutes on high or 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
