MIXED VEGETABLE CASSEROLE WITH
MORNAY SAUCE
 
2 pkgs. frozen mixed vegetables
1/4 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
2 tbsp. butter

Cook and save liquid.

MORNAY SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. liquid (cooking liquid plus canned milk to make 2 c.)
2 tbsp. white wine or sauterne
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. grated cheese
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of thyme
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
3 tbsp. melted butter

Pour over vegetables. Top with 2 cups seasoned bread stuffing. Bake a few minutes until hot. Makes 1 1/2 quart or 2 small 1 quart dishes.
