FARM-STYLE FRIED APPLES 
1/2 lb. bacon
3 lg. onions, sliced
4 lg. tart apples
2 tbsp. brown sugar

Fry bacon until crisp; set aside. Peel and slice onions. Core apples (leave skin on). Cut crosswise in 1/4 inch circles. Drain all but 1 tablespoon bacon drippings from pan. Cook onions in reserved bacon drippings 3 minutes; cover with apple slices in an even layer. Sprinkle brown sugar over all; cover. Cook until apples are tender. Serve with crisp bacon slices.
