SOUR CREAM SUGAR COOKIES 
3 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (1/2 of this can be butter for flavor)
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Sift dry ingredients in bowl and cut in the shortenings as you would for pastry. Add beaten eggs, cream, vanilla and lemon extract. Dough will seem soft but chill in refrigerator. Then roll thin and sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350 degrees until light brown, about 8 to 10 minutes. Half the success of a crisp white sugar cookie is in the rolling them thin enough!
