CHEESECAKE COOKIES 
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
4 tbsp. melted butter

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg

In a bowl, combine sugar, flour and nuts. Stir in the melted butter. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for top. Press remainder in 8x8 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

For filling, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, lemon rind, lemon juice, sour cream, vanilla and egg until creamy and light. Pour into baked crust. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool for a few minutes on rack before cutting into 2-inch squares. Cool completely. Serve or cover and refrigerate. These cookies can be frozen for later use.
