1/3 c. butter 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 c. flour 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts 1/4 c. sugar 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened 1 egg 1 tsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cream butter (butter) with brown sugar in a small bowl. Add flour and walnuts to make a crumb mixture. Reserve 1 cup for topping. Press remainder into bottom of an 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned. Blend sugar with cream cheese until smooth. Add egg, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla. Beat well until mixture is smooth. Spread over baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares. |
