MOLASSES CAKE 
4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
2 c. boiling water
1 c. molasses
1 tbsp. baking soda

In large bowl, sift together flour, salt and sugar. Blend into Crisco with forks or a cake blender. Reserve 1 cup for topping. In small bowl, mix together water, molasses, and baking soda. Add to crumb mixture, mix and pour into large ungreased cake pan. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
