1 roll refrigerator slice & bake cookies (any flavor)
2 1/2 c. hot water
2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates

Cut cookie dough in pieces; set aside. In saucepan, bring water, sugar, butter and salt to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves and butter melts. Stir in vanilla, nuts and dates. Pour hot mixture in ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan. Place cookies on hot mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
