WALNUT HORN COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 cake yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm milk
2 c. ground nuts
Sugar to taste (about 1 c.)
1 beaten egg white
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening thoroughly. Add egg and yeast which has been dissolved in lukewarm milk. Add sifted flour and mix well. Chill for 2 hours. Roll out very thin on floured board. Cut in 2-inch squares. Put 1 teaspoon of walnuts on corner. Roll. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven while still hot. Roll in powdered sugar. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
