CORNMEAL DUMPLINGS 
1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cornmeal together. Combine egg and milk. Add the dry ingredients gradually, stirring only until smooth. When the mixture can be dropped from a spoon without sticking to it, drop into a stew. Steam for 15 minutes.
