HAZELNUT - DATE COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. shredded orange or lemon peel
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. orange juice
1 1/2 c. ground hazel nuts (6 oz.)
1 1/4 c. cut up dates

In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, and dash of salt. Beat butter with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Add sugar, bet until fluffy. Add egg, peel and vanilla. Beat well. stir in juice, then flour mixture. Stir in nuts and dates. Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes approximately 48 cookies.
