APPLE DANISH | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 egg yolk 3/4 c. sugar plus 1 tsp. cinnamon Milk 1 c. corn flakes 10 tart apples (about 6 c. peeled and cut) Combine flour and salt; cut in butter. Beat egg yolk in cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid. Mix well. Stir into flour. Roll 1/2 of dough to fit into and up sides of pan (use large cookie sheet with sides or jelly roll pan). Roll dough thin. Sprinkle corn flakes on dough. Place peeled, cut up apples on corn flakes. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter. Cover with other 1/2 of dough. Slit top dough. Brush with beaten egg whites. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. While warm, drizzle with 1 cup powdered sugar and 2-3 tablespoons milk. Eat! |
