SEVEN LAYER SALAD | |
3 c. lettuce, shredded 1/4 to 1/2 c. medium purple onion 1 bag of frozen peas, thawed & drained on towel 1 green pepper, chopped 1/4 to 1/2 c. celery, chopped (optional) 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 1 to 1 1/2 pts. Hellmann's mayonnaise 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 lb. bacon cooked crisp & crumbled 1 glass dish (11 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches) In a glass dish layer salad (lettuce, onion, peas, green pepper, celery, and water chestnuts). Cover top of salad with mayonnaise; sprinkle on Parmesan cheese and sugar. For best results cover well with Saran Wrap; sealing edges. Refrigerate at least 12 hours. Before serving top with crumbled bacon. |
