TOFFEE SQUARES 
1 c. butter (softened to room temperature)
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 7/8 c. flour
6 Hershey bars
1 c. toasted almond or pecans

In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until light colored and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Gradually add flour. Beat until smooth and well blended. Spread evenly in ungreased baking pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees until crust is golden brown and puffy. Remove from oven and arrange chocolate bars evenly over the surface of the crust. Let stand for 5 minutes to soften then spread chocolate evenly over the crust and sprinkle with nuts. Cool and cut into squares.
