BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

10 INCH PIE:

3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/8 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour

Cream first 3 ingredients together then blend in flour. Spread on sides and bottom of pie pan.

FILLING: 9 INCH PIE:

1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. cream cheese (soft)

10 INCH PIE:

3/8 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 tsp. vanilla
8 1/2 oz. cream cheese (soft)

Combine cream cheese and sugar and mix well. Add egg and vanilla. Pour into pastry lined pan. 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon. Spoon over cheese layer. Then sprinkle 1/4 cup ground nuts. Bake 450 degrees 10 minutes; 400 degrees 25 minutes.
