OLD FASHION DATE LOAF 
1 lb. dates
1 lb. pecans
1 1/3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. wine

Put dates and pecans in bowl. Add beaten egg yolks, flour and baking powder. Mix well. Beat egg whites. Add sugar, wine and vanilla. Bake in loaf pan, slow oven, 1 hour and 15 minutes.
