GERMAN CHOCOLATE BROWNIES 
50 caramels
1 1/2 sticks butter
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped nuts
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Melt caramels, 1 stick butter with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over water (in double boiler); set aside.

Mix 1 package German chocolate cake mix with 1/3 cup evaporated milk and 1/2 stick butter and chopped nuts. This will be a little dry. Pat 1/2 mixture into 9"x12" pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Spread melted caramel mixture over cake. Sprinkle 1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips over caramel. Crumble uncooked chocolate cake mixture on top. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into squares. May need to put in refrigerator until caramel is set.
