SWEDISH PEPPAR KAKOR 
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. Karo syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp. cardamom
3 1/4 c. flour
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tbsp. cloves
Juice and rind of 1 orange

Sift flour, soda and spices. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, Karo syrup and then dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly and chill. Roll very thin on a lightly floured board. Bake at 375 degrees - watch carefully.
