TEA CAKES 
1/2 c. butter & 1/2 c. Crisco (OR use 2 sticks butter)
4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
5 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (or more to taste)
1/2 tsp. vanilla (or more to taste)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

First Bowl: Blend butter and Crisco; add sugar and cream ingredients. Beat eggs and add to mixture. Add milk.

Second Bowl: Sift flour, baking powder and nutmeg together. Make a well in flour with dry ingredients, then pour liquid mixture into the flour well and blend. Put batter in refrigerator and cool. Roll out to bake. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
