TURKEY MEATBALLS ITALIAN - STYLE | |
1 slice firm-textured white bread, crust removed 2 tbsp. chicken broth or skim milk 1 lb. lean ground turkey 1/3 c. minced onion 3 tbsp. finely diced green bell pepper 1 garlic clove, crushed 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. flour 1 tbsp. olive oil 1. In a medium bowl, soak bread in broth until softened. Mash to a paste. Add turkey, onion, bell pepper, garlic, Parmesan, salt and pepper. Mix with your hands to blend well. Form turkey mixture into 8 meatballs. 2. On a plate, season flour with additional salt and pepper. Roll turkey meatballs in seasoned flour to coat lightly. 3. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet. Add meatballs and cook over medium heat, turning until browned and crusty outside and cooked through to the center, 15-20 minutes. |
