1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
Little granulated sugar

Beat together butter and powdered sugar until creamy and fluffy. Gradually mix in flour. Stir in vanilla and salt; mix well. Using level tablespoons of dough, shape into balls, press 1 side of each ball into granulated sugar and place on cookie sheet. Cookies may be rather close together because they do not spread when cooking. Bake in 400 degree oven about 10 minutes or until done, but not browned. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
