LONDON BITTE 
5 oz. butter
1 tsp. baking powder
5 oz. sugar
8 oz. flour
4 egg yolks
Lemon rind

Mix together and spread on bottom of jelly roll pan. Spread jelly or preserves on top, then put on topping.

TOPPING:

6 1/2 oz. nuts
4 egg whites
5 1/2 oz. powdered sugar

Beat stiff and stir in nuts. Spread on top of jelly. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour or so until meringue is golden. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top when cool. Cut in squares.
