CANDIED YAMS 
1 c. sugar (white or brown)
1 (No. 2 1/2) can Bruce's Louisiana Yams
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or 2 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1/2 block butter

Drain yams and add butter to liquid. Cook in saucepan over direct flame until thick and syrupy. Add flavoring. Add this syrup to yams placed in a greased baking dish. Dot with butter and bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees.
