PUMPKIN SOUP 
A very delicious way to put your fresh pumpkin to good use.

1 stick butter
3-4 sm. white onions, chopped
3-4 c. fresh pumpkin chunks
1 qt. light cream or milk
1 c. strong chicken broth (part white wine if desired)
1/2 tsp. white pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sweet basil
Sprinkle of nutmeg

Melt butter in Dutch oven. Add all other ingredients and simmer until pumpkin is soft. Run through blender, then pour back into pot to heat the soup. Serve with corn bread and enjoy!
