FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
1 lg. onion
1 c. pancake mix
1 tsp. paprika
Milk

Peel and slice onion 1/4 inch thick; separate. Cover with sweet milk. Use a large bowl; set aside 30 minutes. Drain; save the milk. Mix paprika with pancake mix. Add 3/4 cup milk; mix well. Beat with rotary beater about 2 minutes. Dip onion rings in batter; fry in deep fat about 375 degrees for 2 or 3 minutes. Drain on paper towel. If batter becomes too thick, add more milk.
