PEANUT PATTIES 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Milnot cream
2/3 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter
Few drops red food color
3 c. raw peanuts

Mix sugar, cream, peanuts and syrup in deep saucepan on in skillet. Cook 3 minutes. Test in ice water; a few drops for a firm ball. Take off fire and add butter, vanilla and food coloring. Stir until thick and spoon out on wax paper. Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
