1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix (prepared according to directions)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. caramels & 1 c. sweetened condensed milk, melted together
1 (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped

Pour 1/2 cake batter into greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Bake 10 minutes. Pour caramel mixture over baked cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top of caramel. Pour remaining cake batter over top. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
