ALYSSA'S SPICY SALSA | |
4 large tomatoes 7 to 10 hot peppers, diced 1/2 onion, diced 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. Cow Bell Hell seasoning blend (Denny Mikes; optional) 1 tbsp. seasoned salt (Lawry's) Note: For the hot peppers, you may use jalapeno, cherry, Hungarian, bell, Habanero, chilies, etc. Place large tomatoes in a pot full of water. Turn stove to high. Cook tomatoes until water boils. While your tomatoes are cooking dice up your choice peppers and onion. Place them in a skillet with vegetable oil and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. When you tomatoes are done cooking peel off their skin and put them into a blender. Add tomato paste to the blender and blend. Once everything is blended together transfer to pot and cook on medium heat. Add peppers and onion mixture to the pot, then add can of diced tomatoes. Continue to cook on medium heat. Mix in sugar, chili powder, seasoning salt and Hell blend (if using). Turn off heat. Place in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours and serve. For best results leave in refrigerator overnight.
