NINE LAYER CHICKEN CASSEROLE 
9 slices bread
5 c. cooked chicken
1/2 c. mayonnaise
4 oz. can sliced mushrooms
2 cans sliced water chestnuts
9 slices cheddar cheese
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 c. toasted almonds

Trim crusts from bread and cube, save crusts. Layer all ingredients in order given. Pour eggs and milk over all, then spread on soups. Butter the crusts and mix with toasted almonds. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. During last 15 minutes put on crumb top. Use 9 x 13 inch pan, greased.
