CHICKEN PAPRIKAS 
1 onion, chopped
4 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. paprika
3/4 tsp. black pepper
1 whole tomato (if desired), diced
1 tbsp. salt
3 to 4 lb. chicken, cut up
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 pt. sour cream

Brown onion in shortening. Add seasonings and chicken. Brown 10 minutes. Add water and tomatoes. Cover and let simmer slowly until tender. Remove chicken, add sour cream to drippings in pan and mix well. Add dumplings. Arrange chicken on top. Heat through and serve.

Dumplings:

2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine flour, eggs and salt. Add water. Beat well until dough is gummy. Drop by teaspoon into boiling water. Boil 2 additional minutes. Drain; rinse with hot water.
