SPICY PUMPKIN TORTE 
1/2 c. chopped unsweetened dates
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 env. Butter Buds mixed in 1/4 c. warm water
6 packets Equal
2 tbsp. each assorted unsweetened concentrate fruit juices, 8 tbsp. in all
2/3 c. cooked natural unsweetened pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg replacers, beaten in water
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Combine dates, nuts, and flour; set aside. Mix butter, fruit juices, and Equal. Add pumpkin and vanilla. Beat in eggs, a little at a time. Combine dry ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture, mixing thoroughly. Blend in floured dates and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm. Serve with sugar-free whipped cream, if desired. Yield: 8.
