GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE | |
2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans French cut green beans 1 med. onion, ringed 8 strips bacon, cooked, crumbled 1/2 c. slivered almonds 6 tbsp. sugar 6 tbsp. vinegar Drain beans and place in a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Place onions over beans. Fry bacon and save drippings. Cut bacon into pieces and place over onions and beans. Top bacon with almonds. Add sugar and vinegar to bacon drippings. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour over casserole and marinate several hours or overnight. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. |
