IRISH OATMEAL BREAD 
3 c. flour
1 3/4 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
1 3/4 c. sour milk
1 egg

Mix flour, oatmeal, sugar, salt and baking soda in medium bowl. Cut in butter, mixing to coarse crumbs. Beat egg and mix with milk. Add egg and milk mixture to dry ingredients and mix rapidly. Knead lightly on a well floured board. Form into a round loaf and place in greased 8 inch cake pan. Cut 2 slits in the top of dough. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes.
