BAKED GARLIC BUNDLES | |
1/2 of 16 oz. pkg. frozen phyllo dough, thawed 3/4 c. butter, melted 3 heads fresh garlic, separated into cloves & peeled 1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped 1 c. Italian style bread crumbs Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove phyllo from package. Unroll and place on waxed paper. With pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut phyllo crosswise into 2 inch strips. Cover with another sheet of waxed paper and a damp cloth. Lay one strip at a time on a flat surface and brush immediately with melted butter. Place 1 clove of garlic at one end. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon walnuts along length of strip. Roll up garlic clove in strip, tucking in side edges as you go. Brush with more melted butter. Roll in bread crumbs. Repeat with each strip until all but the smallest garlic cloves are used. Bake on cookie sheet for about 20 minutes. |
