FLOUR TORTILLAS 
4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
9 tbsp. Crisco shortening
1 1/4 c. hot tap water

Mix first 3 ingredients together well. Next, add shortening and mix together. Add water slowly with one hand while kneading dough with the other hand. Knead until dough is soft and smooth. Divide dough into 24 small balls. Place on floured surface and roll out flat with floured rolling pin until round. Cook on preheated hot griddle, turning once when one side is done. Makes 2 dozen small tortillas.
