1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix together and set aside. Cream together shortening, butter, sugars and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, blending after each addition. Mix in the flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
