BERRY PIE 
2/3 to 1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch or 4 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
3 c. fresh berries (you may also use any kind of fruit such as apples)
1 recipe plain pie pastry
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. of cinnamon if using apples

Mix sugar, cornstarch or flour, and salt (and cinnamon). Sprinkle over fruit in 9 inch pastry lined pie pan; dot with butter and add top crust. Bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes, then in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 30 minutes.
