GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
1/2 c. softened butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1/4 c. water
2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. allspice or cloves

Cream shortening and add sugar. Blend molasses, water, flour, salt, baking soda and spices. Chill dough for several hours. Roll dough into balls. Cut with cookie cutters. Decorate with nuts and raisins. Yummy! Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Delicious!
