SAUSAGE BREAD | |
2 frozen bread dough, thawed, cut in half to yield 4 loaves 6 to 8 lbs. green peppers, sliced 4 to 5 lbs. hot or sweet Italian sausage 4 sm. cans sliced mushrooms, drained 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 to 2 beaten eggs, set aside to brush on bread before baking Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut sausage into small pieces. Fry until brown. Add garlic powder and peppers. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until peppers are tender and sausage is cooked. Add mushrooms. Drain entire mixture thoroughly. Roll out dough so each is 12 inches long. Spoon mixture in center. Fold dough over 1 1/2 times until sealed. Brush egg onto dough. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. |
