CINNAMON BUNS 
3/4 c. white corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed down

PASTRY:

3 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk

FILLING:

1/4 c. white corn syrup
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)
Confectioners sugar

GLAZE:

4 tbsp. powdered sugar
Milk
Vanilla

Place syrup, butter and brown sugar in saucepan. Bring to boil and boil 1 minute. Pour into 9-inch square pan; set aside.

Sift dry ingredients for pastry together. Cut in shortening well. Add milk to make a soft dough. Form into ball and turn out onto floured board. Roll into rectangle 1/4 inch thick.

Combine butter, syrup from filling ingredients and spread over dough. Sprinkle with remaining filling ingredients. Roll up jelly-roll fashion. Cut crossways into 1-inch pieces. Place in syrup which is in pan, cut side down. Place in preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for 30-40 minutes. Glaze with confectioners sugar mixed with small amount of milk and a couple of drops of vanilla.
