GRANDMA EKARIUS' CABBAGE CREOLE | |
2 c. potatoes, diced 2 c. cabbage, shredded 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. celery, chopped 1/2 c. onion, chopped 2 tbsp. bell pepper, chopped 1 1/2 c. milk 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. cheese 1 c. ham, diced 8 to 10 crackers, crushed Boil potatoes and cabbage until done. Saute butter, celery, onions, and bell pepper in separate pot. Add milk, flour, and cheese to make sauce. Drain potatoes and cabbage and add ham. Put into casserole and pour sauce over mixture. Top with crackers. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 6. The ornaments of a house are the friends who visit it. |
