HAM SHANK SOUP 
3 pkgs. ham shank
2 cans kidney beans
2 stalks Chinese cabbage
1 Portuguese sausage (hot or mild)
Dash of pepper

First boil the ham shank until it is tender. You may change the water before you add more water during the process of boiling. After it is tender, add the rest of the ingredients and add a dash of pepper.
