SURPRISE CUPCAKES 
8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts, if desired

In small bowl, blend cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, egg, salt. Add chips. In large bowl combine flour, cocoa, 1 cup sugar, baking soda, salt. To this dry mixture, stir in water, oil, vinegar, vanilla. Fill paper-lined cupcake tins 1/3 full of cocoa mixture.

Put cream cheese mixture on top. Sprinkle with nuts, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until cream cheese part is golden.
