"MEAT LOAF" | |
1 lb. ground beef 2 tbsp. chopped onion 1 beaten egg 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 c. bread crumbs 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. poultry seasoning 1/2 tsp. celery salt 3/4 c. milk TOPPING: 1/4 c. catsup 3 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. prepared mustard Cook onion in hot fat until golden. Combine egg and milk. Beat together with seasonings. Add onions and bread crumbs and meat. Mix and put in greased loaf pan. Mix topping together and spread on loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/4 hours. First half covered (37 minutes). Uncover and bake for 37 minutes more. Allow loaf to set in warm place for 20 minutes before slicing to keep moist. Good sliced cold too! |
