MEXICAN APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. applesauce
1 c. crushed pineapple
3 1/2 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 sm. pkg. spice gumdrops
1 box raisins
1 c. (or more) pecans or English walnuts
1 box dates

Cream butter with sugar. Beat in 4 eggs, applesauce, crushed pineapple, flour, soda, cloves, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, lemon juice, gumdrops, raisins, pecans or English walnuts and dates. (Use 1/2 the flour mixed in with the raisins and gumdrops). bake at 300 degrees for 90 minutes.
