BAKED APPLES SUPREME 
6 med., firm apples
2 tbsp. brown or granulated sugar
Dash of cinnamon
1/2 tbsp. butter
Raisins, nuts & preserved ginger (opt.)

Wash, core and place apples in baking dish. Cover bottom of baking dish with boiling water and fill each apple cavity with 2 tablespoons sugar, dash of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon butter. Bake with cover on in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes or until apples are soft. Baste occasionally with syrup in pan. When apples are done, remove, then boil syrup until thick and pour over apples. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream. Raisins, nuts and preserved ginger may be added if desired.
