BLACK BOTTOM CAKES 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 egg

Cream together; stir in chips and set aside.

CAKE:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/3 c. oil
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat everything except vinegar. Add that last. Drop spoonsful of cream cheese mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees about 1/2 hour, or until edge of cream begins to brown.
