HOMEMADE YOGURT | |
1/2 cup plain yogurt 2 cups powdered milk 5 cups warm water Put water into a 3 qt Crockpot add dry milk turn Crockpot temp to LOW, leave for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Turn Crockpot off and wait for 2 hours and 30 minutes longer. Whisk in yogurt. Wrap entire Crockpot in beach towels and let sit for 8-10 hours. When started at 3:30 PM, the yogurt will be ready by 6:30 AM the next morning. Refrigerate. Enjoy. Save 1/2 cup for next batch. May be used as substitute cream cheese if whey is drained. Whey can be used as liquid in bread dough, etc. Submitted by: DSR |
