CASHEW COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sour cream
Cashew halves

Cream shortening and sugar, beat in eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Shape into small ball shapes with wet hands. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. When cool, frost with cashew cookie frosting and place a cashew half on each one.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. milk
2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter over low heat until lightly browned. Remove from heat and add milk and vanilla. Stir in powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
