ARIZONA MOUNTAIN BEAN SOUP 
1 1/2 c. dry pinto beans
3/4 c. brown rice, uncooked
2-3 onions, chopped
2-3 garlic buds, minced
3 cans tomatoes, crushed
Ham or smoked sausage to taste
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook beans and rice according to package directions. Add rice and other ingredients to beans and liquid. Simmer until flavors blend (30 minutes or so).
